Amagansett

For his favorite summer getaway, Doug loves Amagansett—a quaint Hamptons beach town not quite all the way out to Montauk, but pretty close. “I chose Amagansett for a few reasons. Mostly for the beautiful—and sometimes sleepy—beaches of Indian Wells, but also for the quaint vibe and iconic properties.”

Where are your favorite places to catch summer sun in Amagansett?

“I enjoy swimming in that pretty Atlantic Ocean water, biking around town, grabbing food from one of the many delicious local restaurants, and poolside napping.”

What about lunch?

When he's not sipping chilled wine poolside, Doug loves sampling the varied (and delicious!) food offerings in Amagansett. "I recommend Hampton Chutney Co, Lobster Roll, and Rosie’s."

Hamptons Chutney Co. opened their doors in 1995, serving South Indian dosas and fresh chutneys to delighted Amagansett visitors and locals.

Known simply as LUNCH by locals for their iconic road sign, the aptly named Lobster Roll is another favorite. Purchased in 1965 when it was just a tiny roadside clam shack, Lobster Roll has been a local gathering place for delicious seafood for generations. 

What is your ultimate summer bucket-list destination?

“Portugal, up and down the coast. Or Spain's coast. Or Sri Lanka. These are all dream locations for me and I've been before, but need to go back and spend more quality travel time.” Looks like RMNYC 946 is ready to be a jet-setting sidekick.
