Summer Sun with Shruti Ganguly
We’re saying goodbye to summer with award-winning filmmaker Shruti Ganguly, who’s been indulging in all the sunshine this season wearing our Vestry sunglasses. Her favorite part about these frames? “I can wear them anywhere, with anything, and know that my outfit will be elevated,” Shruti says, “It’s always nice to look at the world through rose-colored glasses.”
What’s been your favorite place to travel this summer?
“This summer, I went to the stunning Troutbeck estate in upstate New York—only a couple hours from the city and such a magical place to escape to with friends.The historic manor used to be a private estate and hosted some of America’s most notable literary figures, including Mark Twain and Ernest Hemingway. It was recently converted into a luxury hotel and restaurant with a seasonally-influenced farm-to-table menu. It was so delicious we were back for brunch the next morning after dinner.
If you’re already traveling upstate, visiting Art Omi is also a must! We spent an entire afternoon there, roaming around the giant sculptures and exploring the architectural wonders outdoors.”

What are your favorite spots for social sun around New York City?
"I spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer so I'm constantly wearing my RMNYC sunglasses. Whether I'm at a concert in downtown Manhattan or singing along with the Resistance Revival Chorus—a choir group I cofounded and am an active member in—summer in the city in incomplete without some tunes by my side."
What is your ultimate summer bucket-list destination?
“I’ve had my eye on the Galapagos Islands for as long as I can remember. It’s such an incredible place for wildlife and flora. My dream trip wouldn’t be complete without some scuba diving and a giant sea turtle spotting.”
