In this week’s installment of our #RMNYC☀️ Summer Sun series, we sat down with NYC-based dermatologist Dr. Michelle Henry to see how she stays cool and sun-protected with her pair of RMNYC 794 sunglasses.

What are your favorite places for social sun?

“I love a great view in the summer (as long as I keep my eyes and skin protected)! After a long day at work, I love visiting the Refinery Rooftop for drinks with friends. They have the best Frosé in the city and an unrivaled view of the Empire State Building. It’s also the perfect place to bring friends from out of town. We love to take in the city views and always end up gazing in awe at NYC’s iconic Art Deco skyscraper.”

“On the weekends, I love a good brunch spot. If I’m not at the Refinery Rooftop, you can probably find me at the Rooftop at Restoration Hardware. I also enjoy catching the New York Philharmonic at the Great Lawn in Central Park.”

Where do you like to go when you’re trying to escape the bustle of the city?

“I love New York City, but I do like to escape every now and then. Upstate New York is the perfect weekend getaway. There are so many good places to try, but Farmer and Sons in Hudson, New York, tops the list for a delicious farm-to-table meal.”

Tell us a little more about how you help your clients take care while enjoying the sun.

“I make sure my clients are always well informed about the preventive measures they can take to combat the sun’s dangerous UV rays. Sunscreen is an important start, but they should also be wearing protective clothing and accessories—and sunglasses are very important. The eyelids and skin around your eyes is so delicate and thin, it’s imperative to keep it protected with a quality pair of frames.”  

What is your ultimate summer bucket list destination and why?

“I absolutely love Barcelona. It’s got everything you want in a city: good shopping, fun nightlife, amazing beaches, great food, warm and friendly people, and it’s easy to access from New York.”
